Following our morale-boosting and immensely satisfying 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, we now prepare to face Swiss champions FC Basel in the matchday 2 of Champions League at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
The mood is superb in and around the club at the moment, and we are strong favourites ahead of the game.
However, we can’t afford to take FC Basel lightly as they have defeated the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool in European competitions in recent past. Nonetheless, I am confident that we have enough in our tank to claim three points tonight. We advise Punters to take advantage of this football accumulator tips for the match.
Here are five reasons why I think we will claim another victory tonight.
1) Confidence is high in the squad
I have already mentioned this point in the introduction. To elaborate my point, we are undefeated in all competitions since our opening day defeat to Liverpool. It might still be early days in the season, but we have looked confident of pulling results recently.
Last week’s win over Chelsea would have only boosted our confidence to a whole another level.
2) Depth in squad
We seemed to have a lot of options in crucial areas in our squad at the moment. We are fully loaded in central midfield while striking options have never looked better. We have three really competent striker options in Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez.
Wing options have definitely improved following Alex Iwobi’s emergence and The Walcott’s return to form this season.
We also seemed to have settled with Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi in centre-back positions and have decent options in Gabriel and Rob Holding.
3) We will be playing at home
It’s never a better time to play at home than following an emphatic win over cross-town rivals after a gap of five years.
Emirates Stadium was pumping with noise during our 3-0 win over Chelsea, and I expect to see a similar atmosphere on Tuesday.
Our home support is not the greatest on occasions, but I think that the fans could really prove to be the 12th man tonight.
4) Our attack is on fire
Our forward players are really on fire at the moment. The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott have been in fine form this season, and that’s why we have managed to score 15 goals in our opening six league games.
I believe that we will get to see another display of free-flowing attacking football tonight.
That’s apparently the name our fans have given to the centre-back partnership of Koscielny and Mustafi.
The German international has quickly settled in following his summer move from Valencia and has already formed a very capable partnership with his French partner.
Both players were on top of their game against Chelsea and handled the threat of Diego Costa quite satisfactorily.
More of the same tonight, please.
