Bad News For Arsenal As Sanchez Could Miss Key Premier League Clash

Alexis Sanchez could miss Swansea clash

Our Chilean star Alexis Sanchez could miss our Premier League clash with Swansea City following the international break.

Sanchez has been called up for national duty for World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Peru during the international break.

The game against Peru is set to take place on October 11 while our league clash with Swansea is scheduled for 15th. Sanchez will have a long flight back to London following the game against Peru and that means he is unlikely to make it to London Colney in time for the game against the Swans.

Wenger has been really cautious with the fitness levels of our players this season and this was very much evident when a similar thing happened during the last international break when Sanchez returned late from national duty and was not named in the starting line-up for our game against Southampton.

Lucas Perez led our attacking line against the Saints; however, Sanchez did make a substitute appearance in the 62nd minute of the game. Sanchez’s absence was clearly felt in the game against the Saints, and we only won the game thanks to the controversial injury-time penalty from Santi Cazorla.

However, I expect us to have Giroud available for our game against the Swans. A couple of weeks back, Arsene Wenger revealed that the French striker is still not yet there on fitness levels, and that’s why he hasn’t been starting games.

Giroud, who is also set to represent France during the international break, is yet to start a game this season, and he must be itching for an opportunity to lead our attacking line.

I think the game against the Swans will be a perfect opportunity to give our handsome striker his first start of the season.

We have a lot of depth in our squad at the moment, especially in forward areas, and I think that our squad is strong enough to take three points off the Swans without Sanchez in the mix.

  1. Bonaroca:- Giraud is not a particularly fast player, and I think with his new beard he is slower,
    Mr Wenger please take note.
