Arsenal have sent star midfielder Santi Cazorla to Barcelona to see a specialist doctor in order to help him recover from an Achilles tendon problem according to reports.
Santi Cazorla is undoubtedly one of the most important players for Arsenal at the moment and many feel that the Gunners’ title bid last season faltered after the midfielder suffered a serious injury midway through the campaign.
Cazorla did manage to shake off the problem over the summer and had been playing a crucial role for Arsenal in their fine start to the current season before once again being struck down with an Achilles tendon problem during the Champions League encounter against Ludogorets last season.
Due to the problem, the midfielder has missed a lot of action and in a worrying admission, the player himself admitted about being unaware of when he will be making a full recovery.
The 31-year-old had told Cadena COPE, “I still don’t know the exact time. I am trying to return as soon as possible to be with the team again, but I cannot say if it will be soon, or if I still have a few weeks left. I do not know, but hopefully it will be as soon as possible.”
Cazorla’s current injury situation is certainly a huge cause for concern for Arsenal and now according to reports, it has been claimed that the Gunners have sent the midfielder to Barcelona to see a specialist doctor.
The doctor has been identified as Ramon Cugat and Arsenal are hopeful that Cazorla’s trip to Spain will yield positive results regarding his injury.
Cazorla has been taking injections in order to deal with the pain but with the midfielder not making actual progress in his rehabilitation process, Arsenal have come to the decision of sending the former Villarreal star to a medical specialist outside of the club.
